ABOUT US

WHY CHOOSE CCCA FOR HIGH SCHOOL?

Capital College and Career Academy (CCCA) is a high school that makes learning fun and relevant. Our model allows student learning to extend far beyond the walls of the traditional classroom by focusing heavily on authentic, real-world learning opportunities. Hands-on learning is a focal point of every class. It is not uncommon to walk into a classroom where students are engaged in collaborative projects alongside industry experts. At CCCA students take an active role in making the school their own. From student-led clubs, to on-campus activities, to sports, students take the lead to shape the school culture and community.

WHY IS CCCA NEEDED NOW?

Only 30% of California’s current ninth-grade students are expected to earn a Bachelor’s Degree. High-paying careers that do not require a 4–year degree, such as those in fields like information technology, the medical system, and building trades often go unfilled because the current system of K–14 education has yet to adjust to the current needs of the workforce. CCCA students are college accelerated and career prepared. Upon graduation all students will have a deep understanding of their interests, passions, and pathways available to them.

STUDENTS SHOULD EXPLORE INTERESTS IN HIGH SCHOOL

High school should be a time where students explore their interests and passions while also acquiring skills that can prepare them for the world ahead. Our mission at CCCA is to prepare tomorrow’s workforce today by empowering young people to be critical thinkers who are truly college and career ready by engaging in a one-of-a-kind career technical education. CCCA offers students in Sacramento an educational experience that combines rigorous, research-based academics with a robust career exploration that culminates in PAID internships.

AUTHENTIC LEARNING EXPERIENCES

CCCA students learn along side industry partners who regularly come in to classrooms to lead learning activities. Students also participate in a wide range of learning opportunities off campus including field trips, career fairs, job shadows, and paid internships. Our team believes students learn best when students are engaged in meaningful learning experiences.

College Partnerships

While every public high school in the region offers some form of dual enrollment, CCCA is the only site-based that allows students the opportunity to take classes at both Sacramento State and American River College. We feel strongly that the ability to navigate a college campus more adequately prepares a young person for college. Motivated students can earn up to three years of college credit for FREE while attending high school. All students will take their first college class in their freshman year of high school.
